Priority Enrollment Information

The Putnam County School Board adopted and implemented a Priority Enrollment Policy effective the beginning of the school year in an effort to plan more effectively for the number of students attending our schools.

While parents may register at any school, the Priority Enrollment Policy will be followed to determine enrollment and ensure that student populations stay within a school’s capacity.

The Policy is as follows:

  • PRIORITY ONE: First priority will be for students living outside the bus zone who were enrolled the previous year in a school (this does not include pre-k students), teachers’ children, and children of fulltime non-certified staff in that school;
  • PRIORITY TWO: second priority is for students living in the current bus zone;
  • PRIORITY THREE: third priority addresses those who are siblings of students currently enrolled in that school; and,
  • PRIORITY FOUR: fourth priority addresses those students living outside the bus zone.

It should be noted that parents registering students falling into the Fourth Priority Category will be notified after July 14 regarding availability at their requested schools.
